"May you live in interesting times" is an English expression that is claimed to be a translation of a traditional Chinese curse, but there is no known source for this. The closest Chinese aphorism is "Better to be a dog in times of tranquility than a man in times of chaos." While seemingly a blessing, the expression is normally used ironically; life is "uninteresting" in times of peace and tranquility.
I think the last few decades, especially the last two years, have been particularly "interesting times." And I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted.
